Hi, Oleg, Thank you for sharing the link to the documentary *Naturally Obsessed*. Watching it brought back fond memories of my graduate school days, when I was studying the structures of transcription factors. My training in structural biology, particularly in X-ray crystallography, was a unique and invaluable experience. I also remain deeply grateful to my Ph.D. mentor for patiently explaining every detail of structural determination to students like me.
I am currently a postdoc studying viral and host RNA splicing, and and my work has not been involved in structural biology so far. However, for sentimental reasons, I still maintain my membership in CCP4bb as a way to stay updated on developments in the field. A colleague of mine, who followed a similar path—trained in crystallography during graduate school before transitioning to a different field as a postdoc—once caught me reading the CCP4 bulletin. She laughed and said, *"Once a crystallographer, always a crystallographer."* I suppose she’s right!
