GFP:H6 is a nice place to start. it doesn't have enzymatic activity, but it expresses nicely in coli and is visible to the human eye during affinity-purification on NiNTA/imidazole (and the fluorescence is interesting too). the biochemistry dept. here uses it routinely with undergrads. cheers jon

It is easy to express and purify with IEX snd GF (no tag), and in the 15 years we have used it, students always get crystals. We have published it in Biochemistry and molecular biology education: "A Research-inspired biochemistry laboratory module - combining expression, purification, crystallization, structure-solving, and characterization of a flavodoxin-like protein” https://iubmb.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/bmb.21218 Best Hans-Petter On 17 Jun 2021, at 00:18, P. They should be expressed in bacteria, simple enough to purify and it will be nice to perform some simple characterization experiments(binding assays, enzymatic assays). Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
