*The CCP4 2021 Study Weekend doesn’t start for another week, but the social programme starts on 1st January!*
There will be a range of online social activities as part of the study weekend programme to suit many interests. Two will be gaming-related: a Minecraft server, and an Among Us evening. - Minecraft <https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-windows10>. We will be providing a Minecraft server (bedrock edition, survival mode) for a month around the meeting. Meet up, dig or farm for materials, and build fantastic creations. Could a giant molecular structure built from dyed wool be a candidate for the cover of the Acta Crystallographica special edition? Probably not. Minecraft: Bedrock edition (not Java, sorry!) is available for Windows 10, mobile devices and consoles. If you already have the Android version, you may be able to get it working on Linux or Mac <https://flathub.org/apps/details/io.mrarm.mcpelauncher>. The server will open at 8pm GMT on 1st January. *If you want to join, send me your minecraft username from the email address with which you registered for the Study Weekend.* - Among Us <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muqaBob6pfw>, but with Crystallographers! Have you ever wanted to save a stranded spaceship, while being hunted by a homicidal crewmate? Have you ever wanted to betray your colleagues and then try and pin the blame on someone else? Then you probably should be playing Among Us, the hit lockdown social game of 2020. Among Us is free for mobile devices, or available on Steam for PC for £4. Make sure you have it installed before Thursday 7th, watch a tutorial video here <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muqaBob6pfw>, and try out the free play mode. If anyone wants to host any other games (maybe a Minecraft Java server, Animal Crossing or European-style board games), please feel free to do so and publicise them here or on the conference forums once they open. -- Professor Kevin Cowtan Email: kevin.cow...@york.ac.uk Pronouns: Please use he/him or they/them when referring to me in professional contexts Address: York Structural Biology Laboratory, Department of Chemistry University of York, York, YO10 5DD, UK ORCiD: 0000-0002-0189-1437 <https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0189-1437> Web: https://www.york.ac.uk/chemistry/staff/academic/a-c/kcowtan/ Disclaimer: http://w <http://www.york.ac.uk/docs/disclaimer/email.htm> ww.york.ac.uk/docs/disclaimer/email.htm <http://www.york.ac.uk/docs/disclaimer/email.htm> ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the CCP4BB list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/WA-JISC.exe?SUBED1=CCP4BB&A=1 This message was issued to members of www.jiscmail.ac.uk/CCP4BB, a mailing list hosted by www.jiscmail.ac.uk, terms & conditions are available at https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/policyandsecurity/
