Dear Colleagues, We have a 4-year Senior Research Fellowship open within our newly developing Centre of Enzyme Innovation (CEI <https://www.port.ac.uk/research/research-centres-and-groups/centre-for-enzyme-innovation>) at the University of Portsmouth, UK. We are looking for a talented structural biologist with an interest in the characterisation of enzymes and their modification for improved function through protein engineering. We are focused on biological catalysts for the depolymerisation of polymers from natural (eg. lignocellulose) and synthetic (plastics such as PET) sources.
Publications from our group this year include our work on PETase ( https://www.pnas.org/content/115/19/E4350) and a new class of cytochrome P450 for the bioconvertion of lignin ( https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-04878-2). The salary range is £39-48k (up to $60k USD) and the closing date for applications is at the end of January.
