Postdoctoral Research Associate - Beamline I23 (deadline 5th March 2017) Beamline I23 at Diamond Light Source is a unique facility for in-vacuum long-wavelength macromolecular crystallography (MX). It is optimised for native phasing experiments and identification and location for lighter elements such as P, S, Cl, K or Ca in a wavelength range from 1.2 to 5.5 A. After finally overcoming some fundamental issues concerning the sample transfer into vacuum, the Beamline is now in an optimisation mode starting to solve difficult structures.
We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoc to join our journey to exploit the unique opportunities of this novel instrument, helping to establish and test new anomalous data collection strategies from native proteins / nucleic acids or around the M edges for large macromolecular complexes.
