A postdoctoral position is immediately available within the Henry Jackson Foundation at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences across the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland, to work on toxin-antitoxin complexes of *Mycobacterium tuberculosis *under the supervision of Dr Linda Miallau. The focus of research in the Wang lab is on persistence of *M. tuberculosis*.
We employ a multidisciplinary approach to understand the role of toxin-antitoxin complexes in persistence. We use a variety of biochemical, biophysical, structural and in vivo analysis methods to dissect the mechanisms that allow bacterial dormancy and persistence following a stress. The group has open access to a crystallization robot, screen formulator, X-ray home source and Biochemistry instruments such as ITC, mass spectrometer, AUC. We seek a highly motivated person who has recently received or is about to receive a PhD degree. Experience with determination of macromolecular structures by X-ray crystallography is essential. Previous experience in protein purification, computational structural biology and/or biochemistry would be an advantage. Start date: immediately If interested, please submit: 1) your CV (including publication list) 2) an outline of your previous work, your scientific interests and motivation 3) emails of three references to the following email address: linda.miallau at usuhs.edu Thank you -- Linda Miallau, PhD Research Assistant Professor USUHS, Biochemistry dept 4301 Jones Bridge Rd Bethesda MD, 20852
