*Announcement for a post-doctoral position in Caparica, Portugal* The Macromolecular Crystallography Group from FCT (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, UNL) in Caparica (http://xtal.dq.fct.unl.pt/) is seeking a motivated researcher to work as a post-doctoral fellow, in the project "Modern Structural Biology: Resources for the advancement of in-house X-ray Crystallography", Ref. RECI/BBB-BEP/0124/2012 financed by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation.
Work will be carried out in the Macromolecular Crystallography Lab ( http://xtal.dq.fct.unl.pt/) at FCT-UNL, Caparica (www.fct.unl.pt). The candidates should hold a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, and a strong experience in X-ray Crystallography. The hired researcher will be working in some of the Structural Biology projects running in the group (the possibility of developing own research is also considered). He/she will also be dedicated to the operation and maintenance of the Lab's X-ray diffractometers and associated equipment and shall give support to our small molecules' structure solution service. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in small molecule crystallography as well as in protein crystallography. Although not mandatory, it can constitute an additional advantage the experience in protein expression and purification. A starting contract for 6 months will be offered, with the possibility of renovation up to a maximum period of 36 months. The stipend corresponds to EURO 1495 (free of taxes).
