I hope it was not I who gave that impression by suggesting that some of the blame go on the reviewers. Don't you think, indeed, that some of the blame should go on the reviewers? I agree that it is a thankless job, and marvel at the scientific community that we continue to do such, and so conscientiously in most cases--but, does "thankless" mean "blameless?"
