I did the traffic engineering labs (Section 11) an the first go was
fine. I thought it would be a good idea to repeat the lab just to
make sure I got everything.
I did everything the same and it did not work - yes it is GNS3 so I am
thinking that may be a factor.
Debug shows:
debug mpls traffic-eng path lookup
TE-PCALC_PATH: get_path: system_id not initialized!
Google shows no results for this...
Show mpls traffic-eng tunnels shows:
R6#show mpls traffic-eng tunnels
Name: R6_t0 (Tunnel0) Destination: 200.0.0.1
Status:
Admin: up Oper: down Path: not valid Signalling: Down
path option 1, type explicit longtunnel
path option 2, type dynamic
Config Parameters:
Bandwidth: 100 kbps (Global) Priority: 7 7 Affinity: 0x0/0xFFFF
Metric Type: TE (default)
AutoRoute: enabled LockDown: disabled Loadshare: 100 bw-based
auto-bw: disabled
History:
Tunnel:
Time since created: 16 minutes
Path Option 2:
Last Error: PCALC:: Local system ID has not been set
The show command and the debug seem to concur that the "system ID has
not been set"
WTF is it talking about? ldp works, and I can ping the lookpback at
each end of the tunnel, plus I can ping every address in the
explicit-path list.
I can paste my configs but they are verbatim what is in the proctor
guide. I am leaning towards GNS3 having a hissy-fit and being
generally rubbish but if anyone has a better idea then I am keen to
hear it.
Cheers,
Matt
