Agree

Show running is my best trouble shooting command.

So I would never go down that road of practicing without... I´am too stupid to
remember all the Cisco IOS commands I need.

I found show run with "section" or "include" (on switch) command is quite
useful on ccie ts to scanning the possible root cause together with other
command depend on the issue such as show access-list, show ip ospf int b, show
route-map, show ip route, show ip bgp, show spanning-tree, etc. So why not
using it.

Hi George,

There is nothing called "barred" in CCIE lab, all you got to know is the rules
of the game.
show runn would eat your time unnecessarily and you already have limited time
at hand when it comes to troubleshooting.
You cant just think of having a rough guess by doing sh runn , if you know the
real problem just focus on the specifics rather than looking at full config.

You can run debug all as well at your free will in lab and crash your routers.
But all you need to make sure is that you grab those 8 tickets in less than
2 hours.
Its all about time management and having razor sharp eyes to know where the
fault is - which comes with knowing the technology.

All the best with your studies.
