Sandeep I have been in your shoes and trust me it is confusing. However I
really don't think self study is sufficient cos the Exams leading to CCIE are
experience oriented and the tricks and nitty gritty involved are mostly not
covered in study materials. When you realize that some apps/protocols don't
work together or some need to be configured before others which is what you get
through experience. The starting point I believe is get your lab in place and
prepare, when you think you have fully covered the CCIE topics from Cisco site
then try out a CCIE bootcamp. Good luck

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Need some guidance for how to be a CCIE

Dear Buddies/Mentors/Guides

I am following this list from past 6 months but never posted my comment on
technical queries. on some general queries i answered.

now here i have some doubt and i am double minded in this regard. so i
would like to seek views from you Network experts to guide me and show me
the right way towards my journey to be a CCIE.
here is my query :-
I am having CCNA-RS and CCNA-Sec certification from Cisco. MCTS-ISA Server
certification from Microsoft. i have more exposure into routing n switching
as compared to Network Security. ratio is 70% into Routing Switching and
30% into Security.
1) Is it possible to maintain this 70:30 ratio?
2) i want to go straight for CCIE exam, that too within 2-3 years, is it
possible?, if yes then how?.- plz give me detailed guidance in ths regard?
3) Is it possible to clear lab exam thru self study rather than joining an
institute for coaching?
4) From where should i start? as i have all stuff(EBooks/Video Tutorials)
from cisco, INE, trainsignal, CBT Nuggets n other biggies in the industry.
