In a Client-server configuration, GNS3 has problem with serial connection when the two routers are not on the same computer. Attached are the 3 .net files I used: only one of them works fine because I put all serial links on the same computer. Move your mouse over serial link in GNS workplace and see if it show you the same link like the one you configured. GNS has some weird bugs and should take into account that sometimes can be that and not your configs.
