All, The solution in the DSG breaks RIP between R5 and R6 via Frame Relay because of the authentication failures on the frame relay serial interfaces. RIP works via VLAN 567 with the correct authentication.
R5# *Mar 2 17:40:32.983: RIP: ignored v2 packet from 150.100.100.6 (invalid authentication) Also, I think the solution violates the requirements (updates between R5, R6 and R7 should have password ipexpert_R567), this text may intend RIP on VLAN 567, but it is not saying it. The only way I could get this fixed, is by splitting the Frame Relay interfaces on R5 and R6 in two multipoint interfaces. An alternative way (that I did not test, but I assume will work) is to add both keys (R2R5, and R2R6) to the key chain of R5 and R6, so R5 will use R2R5 towards R6 and R6 will use R2R6 towards R5.
