True, virtualization will be a hot topic for the coming years, using
technologies like VSS, Nexus, pseudowires, UCS ('...Vmware, building
there own servers now...'). The other thing is Fiber-Channel over
IP/Ethernet/MPLS (FCoE), so the nowadays separate storage network
infrastructure will be merged into the existing IP network. Nexus is
already prepared for this.

The DC world is changing too, with new 'bed partners' (got this from a
presentation though)
* HP / ProCurve / Brocade-Foundry / Riverbed / EDS
* IBM / IGS / Juniper / Brocade-Foundry (hm) / Riverbed
* Cisco / VMWare / EMC / Netapp

fewyears?

Virtualization is the future... Everything will be focused around that!
Think about what you could do with a specialized server running
VMware... Router, Switch, Voice, Security all wrapped up into one nice
neat package!! There already in bed with VMware, building there own
servers now, going virtual with a few devices (Nexus Series) to start
working out the bugs... Just speculation but I have seen what you can do
with VM Virtual Center (Not that free crap you download) and its truly
amazing technology!
