To help write out the 3rd octet in binary and notice where they are similar: 0000 1000 = 8 0000 1010 = 10 0000 10__ are the similar parts and are included in the summarisation which is 6 bits of the 8. Summarised address becomes 155.1.8.0/22 (as there are 16 bits for the first 2 octets then 6 more bits from the 3rd = 22) Hopefully I have my maths correct here :) Jason
