I was out back early this morning and heard my Warbling Vireo singing. They
nest down by the creek every year . Every year I get many White Crown Sparrows
at my feeders when they are passing through, but none so far this year which is
very alarming and disappointing to me. I've seen them in Skaneateles, but
they've skipped me. I do have a Mockingbird which is a regular singer. I
keep thinking that I'm hearing a Phoebe, but it's just one of the NOMO's many
renditions. I should just sit and listen and write down the list of birds he
mimics.
Anyone have any solutions to keep grackles away from the feeders? Actually
it's all blackbirds-RedWings, Grackles, and cowbirds?
