Greetings! We're moving along with the development of Merlin, an online bird ID tool, a new project underway at the Cornell Lab. At this stage in the development, we are looking for 30 volunteers to provide feedback on the prototype of the Merlin website. You don't need to be an experienced birder--we're looking for birders and non-birders of all skill levels, particularly beginner birders.
When: Monday, March 5th Where: Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Sapsucker Woods, Ithaca Time: 30-45 minute sessions will be scheduled from 8:00-4:30 Please contact me <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> if you are interested in visiting Sapsucker Woods on March 5th and participating in a 30-45 minute, one-on-one session to share your thoughts on a preliminary version of the Merlin bird ID tool. Along with your name and contact information, please let us know your preferred time to visit: early morning (8-10am), late morning (10-12); midday (12-2); late afternoon (2-4:30) Even if you can’t join us on March 5th, you can still help out with future testing on the Merlin tool. Just write back and let us know of your interest. In exchange for your feedback, we can offer you one of the Lab’s audio productions, Voices of North American Owls. We hope to see you soon! Please pass the word along to family members or friends who may be beginners or have very little birding experience.
