Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

6/26: At Knox-Marsellus Marsh a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER and 2 BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER were seen. At VanDyne Spoor Road 5 AMERICAN BITTERNS and 4 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS were found.
6/29: 4 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen in Knox-Marsellus Marsh. 2 pair
of SANDHILL CRANES were seen from Morgon Road.
7/2: A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was seen flying from Tschache Pool. 3
BLACK TERNS were seen at Railroad Road. A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was seen with
a
small group of Peep at East Road. A pair of PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS were seen
carrying food at the Armitage Road location.
7/3: 1SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was still at Knox-Marsellus Marsh. Also 1
GREATER and a large nummber of LESSER YELLOWLEGS. 2 TRUMPETER SWANS and a
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON were seen at Mays Point Pool.

7/3: An immature plumaged WILLET was found on the beach at Fairhaven State
Beach.
