I stopped at the traditional Mourning Warbler spot along Bald Hill Road (Danby State Forest) this morning. Walking in, I was quickly surrounded by Tennessee Warblers - I estimate at least ten (10!) individuals were singing from the tops of the spruces. They were making so much noise that for a while I didn't even notice the singing CAPE MAY WARBLERS (3-4). There were also HOODED WARBLERS, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLERS, MOURNING WARBLER (1), and the usual assortment of other warblers, plus empids, cuckoos, tanagers etc. etc. etc. I couldn't stay long enough to sort them out. May try to get back at lunchtime...
