Cayuga-birders,
Up to 5 Nelson's Sparrows have been observed on four different outings by
various observers since 1 October at Martens Tract near Savannah, NY. Most
recently there were 4 birds seen this morning (8 October). Sightings have
been pretty consistent along the water-filled ditch that runs east-west
south of the gated road at the Martens Tract parking area. Other birds seen
recently there include Trumpeter Swans, American Bittern, Virginia Rail, and
numerous Marsh Wrens and Swamp Sparrows.
Maps, etc can be found on eBird. Boots are recommended for traipsing around
in the wet fields.
Cheers,
Tom
