                  Brown Sugar Pound Cake - FavoriteRecipes

   Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

   1                cup  butter -- softened or oleo
      1/2           cup  shortening
   1              pound  light brown sugar
   1                cup  sugar
   5                     eggs
   3               cups  flour
   1                cup  milk
   1                tsp  vanilla
   1                cup  pecans -- chopped
                         NUT GLAZE
   1                cup  powdered sugar -- sifted
   2               TBSP  butter -- or oleo
   6               TBSP  milk
      1/2           tsp  vanilla
      1/2           cup  nuts

In large bowl beat butter & shortening together.  Gradually add 
sugars, creaming until mixture is light.  Beat in eggs, one at a 
time.  Sift flour & add to creamed mixture alternately with milk & 
vanilla.  Stir in pecans.  Pour batter into greased & floured 10" 
tube pan.  Bake at 350 degrees 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Remove from 
pan.  In small bowl cream sugar & butter.  Add milk, vanilla & nuts; 
mix well.  Pour the glaze over hot cake.  Makes 12-14 servings.
