1 box yellow cake mix
flat root beer
Follow the directions for the cake mix, except substitute flat root beer
for the water.
Frost with something like a cream cheese frosting or a vanilla buttercream,
this would also do well in a bundt pan with powdered sugar sprinkled on
top. I found out many years ago that you don't want to frost this cake
with chocolate icing or frosting, or peach (don't know what possessed me to
use that one!).
My son won a Grand Champion ribbon at the 4H County fair when he is five
years old (he's 32 years old now so that tells you how old this
recipe is). This was for the beginning baking project where kids weren't
expected to bake from scratch.
Also, I will make the Dream Whip frosting, I believe the recipe is on the
side of the box. I think it calls for milk so I substitute dry milk & root
beer for the milk.
