This does not call for an egg, but you can put one in. You can also put in chopped nuts, Candied fruit or English Currents.. This is baked in a milk pan and makes 2 Large loaves. Bake at 350°. Start checking at 1/2 hour, with toothpick for doneness. could take up to one hour or more, as this is a thick cake. If you don't have a milk pan, a bunt pan, or tube cake pan will work as well.
