Wait. Eventhough I agree with nate's and rest of baker's opinions (see my
previous posts) I still have to disagree with that vision of seeing this
browser issue as a black & white thing. Bottom line is that each browser has
its ups and downs, that's it. FF is great at some things, IE is good at
others. I've been a FF user since its first release, but since IE7 I moved
towards IE. I still use all other browsers to test my applications, but
that's just what I like. And who knows, tomorrow may be the day that I
decide to use a different browser...

It is not *that* hard to make a good design work seemingly on major browsers
(mainly IE, FF, Opera, Safari), but it *is* hard. You have to put your
effort into it, that's it.

But that's why we get paid the big bucks.

Or do we? ;)

Unfortunately, because every previous version of IE is nowhere near
standards compliance, style sheets have to be filled with various
cunning hacks to overcome the IE's bugs and design flaws so although
IE7 is closer to standards compliance, it now receives some/all of the
hacks that were aimed at it's anti-social ancestors.
