If you use a gasoline generator and you've run it for whatever reason, and you know you're going to store it a while....don't just hit the off switch. Turn the fuel supply off and let it run out of gas instead. Then hit the off switch. This will prevent fuel from staying in the carb/floats and it congenialing.
