60/40 Rosin core solder is the generally accepted solder. Some solders are better than others which I assume has to do with the quality and quantity of rosin. Do not use acid core solder. I like some solder radio shack used to sell which also had some silver in it. You can also buy some flux in liquid form which is a good supplement to the flux in the solder.
