I don't know that I have an answer, other than you could hang it in a tree and 
use it as temporary repeater for you and your hunting buddies at the deer lease 
for the couple of hours the battery would last...  I've never used crossband 
repeat on an HT.

Maybe you could use it to extend the range of your DMR handheld talking to your 
hotspot?

Looks like a nice radio but one question, WHY would you need or want cross band 
repeat on an HT?  I’ve used that feature before in a RL emergency condition as 
well as with our work with the ’96 Paralympics but I used a mobile car radio 
with the 50 watts out.  We were having issues with having to use the full power 
modes on the HT’s and draining the batts on them really quickly.  Being able to 
switch to low power on the HT’s extended our “excursion” times a great deal.

Maybe someone else would have an idea where this would be handy?
