I had the same time issue with JT65. Last week I noticed that the program
waterfall showed lots of contacts but the program was not decoding them.
Doing much troubleshooting I could not figure out the issue. I called one of
my elmers and he came over. After some discussion I mentioned that the
Atomic clock on the wall did not match the clock in the program. He said
"There
is your problem". We installed NET TIME and the problem went away. NET
TIME syncs the cpu with the atomic clock once a day or when ever you boot the
system.and it costs NOTHING. Try it and you will like it.

Good Evening,

I seem to remember talking to someone on the repeater about how to time
sync Windows 10. This is needed for JT-65 mainly. A few of the JT-65 apps have
a time sync function, but here is a quick video showing how to get Windows
10 to sync.

In the Date and Time setting from the Control Panel click on the Internet
Time Tab and then the Change Settings Button.

This will allow you to select Synchronize with an Internet time Server and
there are a few to choose from. Don't ask me which one is best. My guess
is that "Father Time" keeps all these time servers inline.

The periodic time sync happens once a day or twice a day at best. If you
are running JT-65 and are having trouble decoding or getting a call back
after calling CQ, then the first thing I do is this time sync.

There again don't ask me why. PC's make lousy clocks. My guess is that
they are way to busy managing those nasty Pop ups, virus scanners, on
firewalls , and darn Angry Birds.

So the important part is that you click Update Time and get a good
conformation message back. Then you should be golden once you get back after
those
JT-65 contacts.

You can now rest easy knowing you won't have to sync your Windows 10 clock
again until the next day. If you watch the water fall on JT-65, you can
see the guys that are off on their time. They are just those same people
that always seem to love ice skating uphill.

If you have questions on how to time sync any of the other operating
system, my answer is to upgrade to Windows 10 and follow these instructions.
These may work for Windows 7.31415 or which ever Windows that guy at Best Buy
sold you, but Microsoft loves to fundamentally changes things just to keep
programmers and support people employed.

I always like to quote references and Scott Adams is the Mark Twain of the
Tech Sector. In his "Should Have" Won an award book entitled "The Dilbert
Principle" he captures the essence of the world of modern products:

Problems You Create Market Opportunity

Write bad Software Sell Upgrades
Build undependable products Sell service warranties
Tell People they Stink Sell deodorant

Hey its all true if you just look under the hood. :) I had some time to
kill and I appreciate you reading this far. 4 Minutes a QSO in JT-65 gives
me plenty of time to goof off in email.

Have Fun,
Jeff
