I did make a mistake in my initial report.

I am actually performing an auto upgrade, via autoinstall:

> boot bsd.rd
(s) for shell

mount /dev/wd0a mnt && cp mnt/auto_upgrade.conf . && autoinstall

Autoinstall/autoupgrade functioned fine for previous builds on the
3rd, but failed on the build from last night.
