On my Sandy Bridge machine, the latest snapshot (May 24th) fails to boot
whereas previous snapshots (circa Apr 17) were fine. The kernel appears
to boot mostly fine but the end of the dmesg is:
softraid0 at root
panic: root device (a5d22c2aa2236afb) not found
I'm then dropped into ddb, but since my USB keyboard then stops working,
I can't get much further.
My hunch is that this might be an AHCI problem. In older snapshots the
following line appears:
ahci0: stopping the port, softreset slot 1 was still active.
but (unless it zipped extremely fast off of the screen) I did not see
this on the newer snapshot.
Changing the BIOS from AHCI to IDE allows the machine to boot, although
the disklabels are then all wrong (unsurprisingly) so I haven't got
past single user mode yet (since my fstab is in terms of sd0, which,
since the BIOS is in IDE mode, has then become wd0).
This does make me wonder, however, if this might be a disklabel problem
as the DUID appears to change between snapshots (from naa.5e83a97f58bb5e60
to a5d22c2aa2236afb?). However, I am currently clueless with DUIDs so I
may not be interpreting that correctly.
