I remember fuzzily some discussion of the possibility to use po4a to help with Texinfo manuals translations, but I do not know if anybody did/do that in practice. That would be quite nice for the GNU Texinfo manuals, and more generally for the documentation in Texinfo. I had a look at po4a (which is written in Perl), and it seems that the Texinfo parser is not really maintained. My feeling is that it would be better to base it on the Texinfo parser, but I do not know what the po4a project consider as acceptable prerequisites. Indeed, the Texinfo parser and, more importantly, the tree obtained are not so stable, and the Texinfo Parser is not really "public", it is bundled with GNU Texinfo and not really available separately, not on CPAN for instance, this may be an issue. That's something I could have a look at when all the things to do for texi2any are done (which will take some time). -- Pat
