actually, I was just about to suggest working on contributor.texi and/or web.texi. Neither one involves lilypond-book. Admittedly web.texi doesn't use the special table of contents stuff, but it could be good to work on that first; then once web.texi is looking fine, work on contributor.texi (which has the special table of contents but no translations), and only then tackle the other manuals.
