Comment #8 on issue 1244 by percival.music.ca: Change to the new website
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1244
To comment 3 and 5, Trevor:
Aye, that be a good thing. Too many weens be getting themselves in trouble
by stumbling across 2.13 without intending to.
(sorry, I'm quite chuffed because I managed to use the word "aye" in a
non-ironic fashion three times this week. My family was disappointed at
how little my accents has changed, but at least I can adjust my dialect!)
Anyway... one of the goals of the new website is to discourage people from
using the devel version unless they actually know what they're doing.
That's why the top-level menu bar (sorry I didn't realize what you were
saying!) only deals with the stable version:
- under Downloads, the "development: latest unstable version" is hidden in
the "for developers" box.
- under Manuals, the "development: manuals for the unstable version" is
hidden in the "other materials" list.
This will work better when we have 2-4 stable releases each year, which is
an entirely reasonable goal as long as we have a functional Bug Squad. :)
