Don't base your work on Finale – the reason many of us shape-note composers
are
trying to use Lilypond in the first place is that Finale does it very wrong.
I hope we don't need two sets of note-heads; however, I'm not very familiar
with
Aiken shapes, and can't really comment on those.
Looking through the SH: As noted above, mi noteheads do have the SW and NE
sides
emphasized; the emphasis for mi does not change based on orientation of
stem. On
the fasoli list it was confirmed that all emphasized lines are exactly
twice the weight
of the un-emphasized ones; it looks like this is what you have.
To my taste, the SH-relevant noteheads in this sample look excellent, Carl!
