If implemented, this also will ease very much the aligning of several slightly different lyrics to one melody, aided with the commonly used parenthesized notes or dashed slurs. We could use two invisible melodies for aligning, and a third, visible one for actual printing. This will give complete freedom of lyrics with little effort.
Important: the alignment of syllables to notes should behave exactly the same as it
