Thanks for the advice, but: No, "qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm" does not work better than VirtualBox for me. The Linux kernel has a limitation that does not allow a KVM VM and a VirtualBox VM to run at the same time. Therefore, in order to run "qemu -enable-kvm" for Hurd, I have to first shut down all my other VMs. Thus I can't do any real development as long as the Hurd VM is running. And qemu-system-x86_64 without "-enable-kvm" is pretty slow; not what you would consider as "better" than VirtualBox either. Bruno
