Regarding applying to GNU Hurd for GSoC '15

Respected Sirs/Ma'ams,

          I would like to apply to the GNU Hurd Project for Google 
Summer of Code 2015. I am a newbie here. I have coding experience in C, 
C++, Python and (basic) Bash Scripting.

          Can someone please help me get started and guide me as to 
what steps I have to take to prove myself and secure a GSoC for the GNU 
Hurd project?
