I just meant this as a marketing comment: GNU would risk losing a good deal of its foothold in the community, if it would say "this OS which can do far less than GNU/Linux is now the GNU system". But yes, Hurd can't say "we are the GNU system" - that's up to the whole GNU project to decide (thanks for cutting in before wrong ideas get a foothold).
