The first patch makes left-shift+pgup/pgdown work like
   right-shift+pgup/pgdown, i.e. it scrolls the screen up or down by
   half a screenful.

Makes sense.  That is what a user would expect since there is no real
difference between the right shit key and the left shift key.

   The second patch might be more controversial, it makes
   caps-lock behave like ctrl, as is already the case in the Mach console.

This would be wonderful.  It isn't controversial, the only
controversial thing is the real capslock key. :-)
