I wonder why nobody noticed it before. I did; and I did report it.
But right now I cannot reproduce it at all. rpctrace shows that ext2fs/libdiskfs is to be blamed, not glibc or programs. Can you show us the rpctrace? I really doubt that this is a ext2fs/diskfs issue since neither have had any funky things commited for a long time. What glibc version are you using by the way?
