To clarify: the above snippet doesn't on its own demonstrate the lack of
diagnostics, since the fgrep filters stderr in a way that would remove any
warning or error.  But it's easy to run it without the filter, or to run just
the .hcode requests, to see the absence of diagnostics.

$ fgrep hcode 66040.pchar.test | groff-latest -ww
$
