_This_ patch touches only the -me package.  You might be wondering about the
effect of the patch that fixed bug #64240.

Even then, I'm not sure what you're asking.  The items in the -me package that
had units appended were strings, not registers, and those strings could of
course have units already in them, resulting in troff ultimately seeing
something like ".nr foo 3mn".  Before #64240, the final "n" was silently
ignored.  It's still ignored, just no longer silently.
