I can see many changes happening then. Not an osx developer, but isn't the binary format different anyway? This stuff is very much ELF specific. Ironically, osx's dynlib already out-of-the-box treats dynamic libraries as optional, so you get dlopen behaviour "for free". Wish we had it on Linux.
