Richard Jones has proposed such a module for gnulib already [1] in last
October, and it needs only a bit of source code polishing [2] until it can
be included in gnulib.

today I tried to start working on the drand48 issue but I can't apply
the patch to my Gnulib copy. I just tried
git apply ../0001-new-module-rand48.patch
and got
../0001-new-module-rand48.patch:852: space before tab in indent.
srand48 seed48 lcong48 drand48_r erand48_r lrand48_r \
error: patch failed: lib/stdlib.in.h:234
error: lib/stdlib.in.h: patch does not apply
any help? I'm rathe rnew to git so be a little bit patient with me ...
