But only 3 out of 37 coreutils translations got this right (Spanish, Swedish, Finnish). So it means that relying on the translators to do this job doesn't really work. Also in the C locale, without any translator involved, we have: $ LC_ALL=C ptx --version | grep Pinard Written by F. Pinard. It could say: Written by Francois Pinard. or Written by Franc,ois Pinard. Which of the two ASCII transliterations he prefers, François will certainly tell you himself. Bruno
