Where did you obtain gnuls?  It sounds like a subset of coreutils, but as
a subset, this query may be better directed to the person providing the
stripped down package.

Thanks for the report - however, we need more details.  Which version are
you compiling (the latest stable coreutils is version 5.94)?  What system
are you on (uname -a)?  What compiler are you using?  Can you find the
section of config.log that shows the test program that failed compilation,
and send that to the list?
