No, very few programs do. The Debian 12 system I looked at claims to have
en_US installed, but nothing in /usr/share/locale. My Fedora 41 system has
a directory there, but only 3-4 .mo files. My RHEL 9 system has 2. I took
a quick look at the GNU programs I have here, and none ship with an en_US
po file. If this is a problem, it's just about universal.
