As it turned out, I did have the wrong package. I got the brltty-win-4.5-x package.
Am I correct that the package should be installed in the Windows directory? Working from the thumb drive where I currently have the package, I can get brltty.exe to work after using brlttyconf to set the display and Com port. But when I use brl-api to set up Python (so I can use NVDA), I get the error that no Pythhon directory was found. My assumption is that no Python system is installed on my machine. Am I correct? Many thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: Velegi István <[email protected]> To: "Informal discussion between users and developers of BRLTTY." <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, May 6, 2014 4:23 pm Subject: Re: [BRLTTY] Cannot install Windows version of BRLTTY on 64-bit system > > > Dear Mike, > > If I remember well, the windows version is a.exe file (not .zip) which > can be downloaded from brltty's website. > I can confirm that it works under windows 7 64 bit with the tsi driver. > I used a navigator display with it. > > Greeings, > Istvan > 2014.05.07. 0:59 keltezéssel, Mike Keithley írta: > > Hello list, > > > > I have the 64-bit version of Windows 7.
