Yup. More seriously, why don't we set up circles on google plus? Then we'd still have that interaction via means like this one, with about the same openness, and the ability to choose correspondents ourselves?
That is, if each of us were to create a 'brin' circle in g+, and add each other to our own circles, in that way the conversation would still be live - and if someone got too obstreperous for a given person to tolerate, he'd be able to remove that person from his own 'brin' circle, without affecting anyone else.
