On that score, McCain would have to be disqualified as well, for  
thinking that he could choose someone like Palin and somehow escape  
half the civilized world looking her up in Wikipedia within the first  
5-10 seconds and begin blogging within the next minute or so after  
that.  My guess is that he felt he had to pick someone the dominionist  
far right would approve of, given that they have historically paid a  
lot of the bills for GOP campaigns and it's nearly impossible to get  
elected as a Republican without them, but made a calculated move to  
try to please both sides by choosing someone he thought would get in  
under the radar .. not realizing that there *is* no "under the radar"  
these days ..
